Of course! Changes to your registration can be made until online registration closes, which is 10 days before the race. If you can’t make up your mind by then, no worries – we can change your registration for you at packet pick-up. Just stop by the Information Booth & make sure you start at the correct start time.
Packet pick up will be Saturday, July 20 11am-4pm. There is no Sunday packet pick up.

Yes. We start the walk separate from the run to allow walkers enough time on the course so they can have the same finish line experience.
Ladies, if you’re trying to break world records – we suggest you find a different race. If you can’t support other women achieving a goal of walking a half marathon (maybe their first!), then this race isn’t for you. Yes, you might have to go around some walkers, but when you do – say hi and give them a cheer. They might just do the same and send you positive vibes on your way to a PR.

It’s just a hill, get over it! Hills make us stronger. You WILL be able to do this! The 5K is a slightly rolling course, but great for beginners. Wide streets, lots of shade, and through a cool neighborhood.
No. We love dogs and they are amazing training partners, but leave them safely at home – away from the loud noises, the crowds, & out of the heat. But tell them all about your race time splits when you get home – they are the best listeners!
You’ll get your bib along with your goody-bag at packet pick-up on Saturday, July 20, from 11am-4pm. Note: there is no Sunday packet pick up and no packet pick up on Friday. Saturday only.
Only the prettiest, most sparkly, most awesome finisher medal out there! All finishers of the half marathon & 5K will receive a finisher medal. Yes, ALL of you. Also, be sure to notice that the 5K medals are the same size as the Half Marathon medals. That’s on purpose. Why? Because to some runners a 5K is just as big of deal as a Half Marathon. They get to celebrate just as much with a medal that’s just as awesome.
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall female finishers of the half marathon distance & 5K distance. Awards will be given to the last 3 overall female finishers of the half marathon & 5K distance, named “Time On Your Feet” awards. Awards will be given to the 1st finisher in each age group: Under 14, 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+.
There is a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a 5K (3.1 miles).
Yes! Walkers are welcome! The course is open for 4 hours. You need to be able to finish within this time.
The Her Madison Half Marathon & 5K is proud to support Run Strong Madison as our official race charity partner. We also support My Team Triumph, and several other volunteer charities.
Banditting is not allowed. You put all the other athletes at risk and the person you give your bib to. The emergency personnel work very hard to keep you safe. You can send us a transfer request to email@example.com
Think of this as an investment. An investment in yourself – the training, the gear, the preparation. Even if you can’t show up on race day – you’ve already made those investments, and so have we. Unfortunately, even if YOU can’t make it, we still have to pay for the barricades, the police staff, all the goodies….all costs that we can’t return.
Our race is open and dedicated to all individuals that identify as female. We do not offer men’s awards.
We would LOVE to have men volunteer at our event! Or, you can have your guy cheering somewhere on the course!
Our race is capped at 3,000 participants.
Online registration will close on Wednesday, July 17 at 8:00am.
On-site registration will be available during packet pick up on Saturday, from 11am-5pm.
We request that athletes are at least 8 years old to participate. Any participant under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the participant wavier.
The half marathon course will officially close at noon. This gives 5 hours for the half marathon run.
The 5K course will stay open until noon as well.
If you are not going to finish within that time limit, you are absolutely welcome to finish the race, but just know that it will not be supported. You may be asked to move to the sidewalk.
There are 2 aid stations on the 5K course, mile .85 and mile 2.05, in addition to at the start/finish.
There are 8 aid stations on the half marathon course (approx every 1.5 miles), in addition to at the start/finish. Start, Mile 2, Mile 3.1, Mile 4.2, Mile 6, Mile 7.5, Mile 9, Mile 10.5, Mile 12.1, Finish.
Water, Powerbar Gel, and Sports Drink. Plus cheers from the most beautiful, amazing volunteers.
There will be ample porto potties located near the shuttle bus drop off. There will also be a portopottie at each aid station.
Yes. You can run with headphones, but you are responsible for knowing the course and being able to listen to volunteers.

Hotel check out is at 11am. However, The Concourse does allow for late checkout upon request at check-in and subject to hotel availability. Just be sure to call down to the front desk to make late check out arrangements.
