LEAD BIKES HALF MARATHON – Joshua S

You will check-in at the starting line at 6:30 am on Sunday, you will get a safety vest and a two-way radio to use. At 6:55 am, you will line up ahead of the starting chute and wait for the official start of the 1/2 marathon. When the race starts, you will lead the first runner around the entire course. There are 2 hills that can be tough for some people so be prepared. You will randomly announce “the half marathon lead just passed mile (whichever mile marker you are at). You will bring the first place finisher across the finish line and then, if you have time, you could ride out to Mile 8 and follow the course back to the finish again to make sure all of the runners have finished.
You can determine where the last runner is at and tell the Course Marshals & Police Officers so they know when to leave their posts. The last runner wouldn’t be at Mile 8 until 9am or possibly a few minutes later.

To get familiar with the course, you should ride it once or twice before the race. The course maps are on our website at https://www.hermadisonrun.com/event-info/courses/.

You can also download the Ride With GPS App for voice guided directions. The instructions are on our website at https://www.hermadisonrun.com/share-your-run-live/
